Why we built it this way

Bluesky doesn't offer a "Log in with Bluesky" button for apps yet, so connecting a tool often means typing in your real password. We didn't want to ask for that.

Instead Rebbel uses an app password: a separate code Bluesky generates for exactly this purpose, which you can delete at any time without touching your real login.

How it works

You create the app password in Bluesky's settings, then paste it with your handle on your brand's Connections page. Rebbel keeps the session Bluesky gives back, not the app password itself, and refreshes it quietly in the background.

Bluesky posts run up to 300 characters, with up to four images. Video isn't supported on Bluesky yet, and Rebbel tells you before it tries.

Staying in control

Delete the app password on Bluesky and access stops at the source. Rebbel notices on its next check, holds any scheduled Bluesky posts instead of failing them, and releases them once you connect again.

Set it up

1. Create an app password in Bluesky's settings.
2. Paste your handle and the app password on your brand's Connections page.
3. Approve a post for Bluesky; it publishes there.
