Connect X

Open your brand → Connections → the X section, and choose Connect X. Your browser goes to X’s own authorization page (you’re on x.com, not a Rebbel page). Sign in to the account you want Rebbel to post from and approve.

You land back on Connections with “X connected.” and a row showing your @handle and picture. A brand can connect more than one X account — the button then reads Connect a different X account.

Rebbel asks for exactly these permissions, and uses each one for one thing:

• tweet.write

  Lets Rebbel publish the posts you approve — and the reply that carries a post's link.

• tweet.read

  Lets Rebbel read those posts back, so Rebbel can show how they're doing.

• users.read

  Lets Rebbel read your own profile — your @handle and picture — so the Connections page shows which account is connected.

• offline.access

  Lets Rebbel keep the connection alive in the background, so you're not asked to sign in again every few hours.

• media.write

  Lets Rebbel attach images to your posts.

Rebbel never sees your X password, and it doesn’t ask for your direct messages, followers or likes.

Text posts of up to 280 characters, with up to four images. Rebbel drafts X copy to fit and shows the count while you edit. When a post has a link, Rebbel publishes the post first and adds the link as a reply to it, tagged so your analytics can see the visits. Hashtags are off by default for X, and never more than two. Every post goes through the same approval step as every other channel: nothing publishes until you say yes.

X’s sign-in only lasts a couple of hours at a time, so Rebbel renews it quietly in the background — you won’t be asked to sign in again. If X ever signs Rebbel out (for example, you removed Rebbel’s access on X), the row shows Needs reauthwith “X signed Rebbel out — reconnect to resume publishing.” and you get one email about it. Scheduled X posts wait instead of failing and publish on their own once you reconnect; nothing needs redoing.

Disconnecton the X row removes the account from Rebbel; posts scheduled for it won’t go out until you connect again. To cut Rebbel’s access on X’s side as well, remove Rebbel from the connected apps in your X account settings.
