Can ChatGPT post to social media for you?
ChatGPT writes posts but doesn't publish them. The three ways to get a draft onto Facebook or Instagram, and the one that keeps your brand's memory and results.
The short version: ChatGPT can write your post, and it can't put it on your Page by itself. Publishing takes something with permission to post to your accounts. Here are the three ways people do it, and what you need before any of them work.

The short answer
ChatGPT writes. Facebook and Instagram publish only through an account that has been granted permission to post to your Page and your professional Instagram account. So whatever posts for you has to be connected to those accounts, and ChatGPT on its own isn't. The question is really which connected thing you want doing the publishing, and how much of the rest of the job you want it to carry.
Three ways to do it
Copy and paste. Ask ChatGPT for a caption, paste it into Facebook or Instagram, add a photo, post. It works, and it's the right answer for an occasional post. Every post still means re-explaining your business to the chat, finding a picture and doing the posting by hand.
A connector. A tool that holds the permission to your accounts and publishes what you hand it. The caption travels from the chat to the Page without you retyping it. What the connector doesn't carry is the rest: what your brand sounds like, what to post next week, which picture, and how the last post did.
A marketing department that publishes. Rebbel is this third kind. It builds a brand guide from your website, drafts a strategy and campaigns of posts with pictures to match, publishes the ones you approve to the channels you've connected, and reads back what each one did. You work with it from the dashboard, from the app on your phone, or from your AI assistant.
What you need first (a Page, a professional Instagram account)
Facebook: a Facebook Page for your business. Apps publish to Pages, not to personal profiles, so if your business lives on your personal timeline today, creating a Page is the first step and takes a few minutes.
Instagram: a professional account (Business) linked to that Page. Instagram lets apps publish to professional accounts, and the link to the Page is how the connection is made. Rebbel's guides walk through creating the Page and converting and linking the Instagram account.
How it works with Rebbel from your assistant, in Claude today
Add Rebbel to Claude from the connector directory, sign in, and connect your Facebook Page on Rebbel's Connections page. From then on the chat is your marketing department: "draft three posts for our fall sale", "make the second one shorter", "approve it and schedule it for Friday at 9am". Rebbel writes from the brand guide it built from your site, so the posts sound like you without re-explaining your business each time, and nothing publishes until you approve it.
The same Rebbel connector works in Gemini CLI, Gemini Spark, Cursor and Perplexity. Your brand guide, campaigns and connected accounts live in Rebbel, so you see the same posts in the dashboard and on your phone, whichever chat you asked from.
Posting to more than Facebook and Instagram
Rebbel publishes to Facebook Pages and Instagram on every plan. Solo and above add X, Threads, Bluesky, LinkedIn (your personal profile) and Pinterest, and TikTok for video you upload. Each post is written for the channel it goes to: "link in bio" on Instagram, the link on its own line on Facebook, hashtags only where they help.
Who it's for
- ChatGPT users who already draft captions in a chat and want them published without the copy-paste.
- Owners who want the posting handled, not just the writing.
- Available on every plan, Free included.
Set it up
- Have a Facebook Page, and a professional Instagram account linked to it if you post there.
- Create a free Rebbel account from your website address, or add Rebbel to Claude and sign in there.
- Connect your Page on Rebbel's Connections page, then approve the posts you want.

Good to know
- Facebook publishing is to Pages; Instagram publishing needs a professional account linked to the Page.
- Facebook and Instagram are included on the Free plan.
- Nothing is posted until you approve it, whichever surface you approve from.
Common questions
Can ChatGPT post to Instagram?
ChatGPT writes the caption; publishing to Instagram happens through an account with permission to post to your professional Instagram account, which ChatGPT alone doesn't have. Rebbel publishes to Instagram professional accounts linked to a Facebook Page, after you approve each post.
Do I need a business account?
For Instagram, yes: a professional (Business) account linked to your Facebook Page. For Facebook, a Page rather than a personal profile. Rebbel's guides walk through both.
Can I do this from an AI chat?
Yes. Add Rebbel to Claude (or Gemini CLI, Gemini Spark, Cursor or Perplexity), connect your Page once, and draft, approve and schedule posts from the chat.
Does anything publish without me?
No. Rebbel's publish and schedule tools refuse any post that hasn't been approved first, from every surface.
