Connect TikTok

TikTok is a video-only channel in Rebbel: you bring a video you already made, Rebbel helps with the caption, you choose TikTok’s settings for it, and it posts to your TikTok once you approve. Connecting takes about a minute on TikTok’s own page.

Before you start

You need a TikTok account and a Rebbel brand on the Solo plan or above. TikTok is included in the plan — there’s no per-post fee. On the Free plan the TikTok section of the Connections page shows what Solo adds instead of a Connect button.

Step 1: Connect it in Rebbel

Open your brand → Connections → the TikTok section, and choose Connect TikTok. Your browser goes to TikTok’s own authorization page. Sign in to the account you want Rebbel to post to and allow it.

You land back on Connections with “TikTok connected.” A brand can connect more than one TikTok account — the button then reads Connect a different TikTok account.

Step 2: Make a TikTok post from your own video

Rebbel doesn’t make TikTok videos for you — you upload your own. Create a post, choose Upload video, and pick your clip: an MP4 or MOV, up to 90 seconds and 500MB. It’s attached as-is; nothing is drawn on top of it. Then pick the TikTok channel for the post.

A text or image post can’t go to TikTok, and Rebbel says so before you approve rather than failing afterwards. Links belong in your TikTok bio, not the caption.

Step 3: The Post to TikTok panel

Every TikTok post has a Post to TikTok panel on its page. It names the TikTok account the video will post to, and it reads your account’s current settings from TikTok each time, so it only offers choices your account allows.

  • Who can view this video. There is no default — you choose every time, from the options your account has (such as Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me).
  • Allow viewers to comment, duet or stitch. All three start off; tick the ones you want. If one is turned off in your TikTok settings, it shows greyed out here.
  • Disclose video content. Off by default. Turn it on when the video promotes something, then pick at least one: Your brand (you’re promoting yourself or your own business — TikTok labels it “Promotional content”) or Branded content (you’re promoting another brand or a third party — TikTok labels it “Paid partnership”). Branded content can’t be set to Only me.
  • The consent line. Under the choices the panel reads “By posting, you agree to TikTok’s Music Usage Confirmation” — and, when Branded content is on, TikTok’s Branded Content Policy too.

Choose Save TikTok settings. The post can’t be approved until they’re saved, and nothing is sent to TikTok until you approve it.

Step 4: After you publish

After you publish, it may take a few minutes for your video to finish processing and appear on your TikTok profile. If TikTok ever signs Rebbel out, the panel asks you to reconnect TikTok on the Connections page before you can post.

Step 5: What TikTok asks you to allow

Rebbel asks for exactly these permissions, and uses each one for one thing:

  • user.info.basic

Lets Rebbel read your TikTok name and picture, so the Connections page and the Post to TikTok panel show which account is connected.

  • user.info.profile

Lets Rebbel read your @username and profile link, so Rebbel can link to your profile.

  • video.upload, video.publish

Lets Rebbel post the videos you approve to your TikTok profile.

  • user.info.stats

Lets Rebbel show your account's follower, like and video totals on your brand's Performance page.

  • video.list

Lets Rebbel read your recent public videos' views, likes, comments and shares, so Rebbel can show how the videos it posted are doing.

Rebbel never sees your TikTok password, and it can’t edit or delete your existing videos.

Step 6: Disconnecting

Disconnect on the TikTok row removes the account from Rebbel and stops offering TikTok for new posts; videos already on TikTok stay there. To cut Rebbel’s access on TikTok’s side as well, remove Rebbel from the apps connected to your account in TikTok’s settings.

Common questions

Which Rebbel plan includes TikTok?

Solo and above. On the Free plan the TikTok section of the Connections page shows what Solo adds instead of a Connect button.

Does Rebbel make the TikTok video for me?

No. You upload a video you already have — an MP4 or MOV up to 90 seconds and 500MB. Rebbel writes the caption with you and posts the clip as-is.

Why is there no default for who can view my video?

TikTok requires that you choose it yourself for every post. Rebbel lists only the options your TikTok account allows, and the post can't be approved until you pick one.

How long until the video shows on my profile?

Usually a few minutes. TikTok processes each video after Rebbel sends it, then it appears on your profile.
