Connect Pinterest

Pinterest is the one channel where every post is a pin on a board, and every pin needs an image or a video. Rebbel handles the board for you and only offers Pinterest for posts that actually carry media, so there’s little to set up — but it helps to know what the Connect button asks for and where things land.

Step 1: Have a Pinterest account

Any Pinterest account works. A business account is worth the two minutes it takes (on pinterest.com: Settings → Account management → Convert to a business account) because Pinterest only reports pin impressions and saves for business accounts, and those are the numbers Rebbel shows you on the Performance page. Nothing about publishing itself needs it.

Step 2: Connect it in Rebbel

In Rebbel open your brand → Connections → Connect Pinterest. Pinterest asks you to sign in and approve a short permission list: read your account details, read and create boards, read and create pins. Rebbel asks for nothing about ads or your saved pins’ contents. Approve and you land back on the Connections page with the row showing Healthy.

Step 3: Where your pins land

On the first publish Rebbel looks for a board on your account named Rebbel and creates it if it isn’t there. Every approved post becomes a pin on that board. Once a pin is up you can move it to any other board from Pinterest itself, and you can rename the board too — Rebbel finds it by name at publish time, so if you rename it Rebbel simply creates a fresh “Rebbel” board next time. Keeping one board for Rebbel’s pins is the simplest way to see at a glance what came from your marketing department.

Step 4: What publishes there

Image posts (one image per pin) and video posts. A text-only post can’t become a pin, and Rebbel says so before you approve rather than failing afterwards. The post’s caption becomes the pin’s description. As with every channel, nothing goes to Pinterest until you approve it.

Step 5: Numbers and disconnecting

Pinterest reports a pin’s impressions and saves roughly a day after it goes up, so a brand-new pin shows a dash on the Performance page, not a zero. To cut Rebbel off from Pinterest’s side: pinterest.com → Settings → Security → Connected apps → remove Rebbel. Rebbel’s next check marks the row “Needs reconnect” and holds any scheduled pins until you connect again.
